There are a lot of easy ways to include pasta in a ">weight loss diet. It just depends on which variety of pasta you use and how you cook it. Whole meal pastas are a good option if you are nutrition conscious, as this variety of pasta is high in unrefined carbs, minerals and proteins. Here are some really great low fat pasta recipes.

Low Fat Spinach and Cheese Spaghetti

This dish is a rich source of vitamins and minerals as well as high in fiber.

Ingredients

1.Fresh spinach: ½ kg

2.Skimmed milk soft cheese: 125 grams

3.Lemon juice: 2 tablespoon

4.Skimmed milk: 300 ml

5.Vegeta: 1 teaspoon

6.Ground nutmeg: ½ teaspoon

7.Whole meal spaghetti: 375 grams

8.Parmesan cheese, grated: 25 grams

Preparation

Cook the spaghetti in about three liters of boiling water. Add some lemon juice and simmer for around 12 minutes or till the pasta turns 'al dente’. For preparing the sauce, first defrost the spinach in the microwave and then blend it with skimmed milk and cheese in a blender. Add the nutmeg, the vegeta and the remaining lemon juice and continue blending. Now transfer the mix into a pot and heat it till it boils. Simmer for about five more minutes. Sprinkle some Parmesan cheese and serve warm.



Low Fat Cheese Macaroni

This is one of the easiest low fat recipes, especially because all the ingredients are probably already in your kitchen.

Ingredients

1.Elbow macaroni: 1.5 cups

2.Low fat milk: 1 cup

3.Onion, grated: half

4.Flour: 2 tablespoon

5.Garlic, crushed: 2 teaspoons

6.Nutmeg, grated: ½ teaspoon

7.Dry mustard: ½ teaspoon

8.Low fat cheddar cheese: 1 cup

9.Crushed tomatoes and basil: 1 can

10.Ground black pepper and salt: to taste

Preparation

Preheat the oven to about 180oC. Cook the macaroni, drain it and set aside. Mix the milk, garlic, mustard, onion, flour, nutmeg, salt and pepper in a large pot and bring it to a boil. Keep stirring the mixture as you heat for about three to four minutes or till it turns thick. Pour the cheese in and stir thoroughly. Pour this cheese mixture into the macaroni pot. Now mix the tomato and basil. Spray a Pyrex and then pour the macaroni in. Bake for around 35 minutes. Let it cool down before serving.
